We arrived at our location about an hour before sunset to a large, newly printed sign — “Closed Due to Covid-19”. When Alex and Sergio first contacted me about photographing their newest maternity season with their second precious baby boy, they came to me with a photo of a river scene, requesting a similar spot for their maternity session. Being from southern California, a river is not a familiar sight to me or a request I’m accustomed to, but after reaching out to a few photographer friends, I had the perfect spot! A beautiful river hidden in tall green shrubs and shaded by lush mountainside with stone and architectural breaks that allowed the river to cascade into small waterfalls. I explored the location just a few days before the session to scout the prettiest light and plan out my favorite spots with no troubles in sight.
I've always been an artist of some kind, so when I first got my hands on a camera, it was like finding the perfect paintbrush.
